Historical Hideaways Nestled in the Cotswolds
A charming estate nestled in the Cotswolds, Beverston Castle’s ruins and stately remains offer three separate dwellings, all perfect as intimate escapes for two.
Historical Hideaways Nestled in the Cotswolds
A ruined medieval stone fortress, its fairytale 14th-century stronghold and gatehouse still greeting visitors upon arrival, this rambling country estate harbors a noble stone manor from the 17th century and traditional estate cottages within its walls. The cottages have been transformed into elegant apartments and independent garden accommodations, all with access to the private garden with its genteel pathways, fairytale stone bridges and dry moat. Stylish interiors across all units combine contemporary comforts with charming historical artifacts. This is an vacation home rental in England for lovers of history, horticulture, and the great outdoors.
An enclosed, aristocratic oasis, the castle’s ruins and lodgings are set in a picturesque hamlet only two miles from the famed market town of Tetbury, well known for its antiques and interiors shops and independent artisanal boutiques. The setting is quintessentially English country manor—a refined, gracious estate where garden strolls, countryside rambles, teatime, and browsing village shop windows are the natural pastimes.
There are three dwellings available for rent within the estate: No 24, a traditional cottage constructed of Cotswold stone with a classic stone-tiled roof; The Bothy, the former potting shed turned elegant studio; and the Rooks Apartment, formerly the estate office, now a nest for two. AROUND
A charming estate nestled in the Cotswolds hills and dales in an area designated as a Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Beverston Castle’s ruins and stately remains dominate the small village of the same name, located only two miles from the notable historic community at Tetbury. Tetbury is well known for its boutiques and antique purveyors, but is perhaps best known for Highgrove House, the family residence of King Charles III and the Queen Consort Camilla, with a shop and gardens accessible to the public.
Guests can also walk to historic Chavenage House, an estate dating from 1576 popular with film crews and luxury event planners, and enjoy a coffee or tea on site. They can also visit the Westonbirt Arboretum (5 minutes away) or book a treatment at the neighboring Calcot Spa. Pub crawling shouldn’t be missed, and notable pubs with unique offerings are set all around the property in the nearby villages of Crudwell (local produce menu), Cirencester (wine wall and horse parking), and Tetbury (vegan and dog friendly).
The spa town of Bath is located a short drive away from this vacation home rental in England, offering a multitude of National Historic Registered sites to visit as well as the city’s celebrated Roman bath remains.
